Today we were to the funeral of Viola Orendorf. She and Hugh were good friends of ours. For years, every year I would take a "load of women" to Uniontown to shop for Christmas gifts in October, and Viola was one of those women. We had a lot of fun, and spent the whole day shopping, eating and chatting. Those years are long past, but we still would talk about it every time I went to visit with her! We will miss her, but we are rejoicing in her meeting with Jesus "face to face", and joining loved ones who have gone on before! This picture was taken at her neice, Londa's wedding June 10, 2006.____________________________________________________________________
Then on Saturday morning we got the news that Raymond Bender (her brother) passed away in Florida. It was quite a shock to all of us, but we know that Raymond is in Heaven, too, and so even though we will miss him, we know he is where he wanted to be. Our daughter, Julie (check her Blog on my sidebar) said it real well. He was known to all the children at church as "The Candy Man", even the children who are now grown up and have children of their own.
Here he is handing candy to some of the children after church on a Sunday morning on October 21, 2007
